Ancaster Skating Club

Our CanSkate and Pre-CanSkate sessions could not run without the help of our Program Assistants. These dedicated and extremely helpful individuals work with our coaches to keep our sessions moving. We are truly grateful for all the hard work they do. When a PA does an awesome job, our coaches and board members reward them with a RAD (Really Awesome Deed) slip with their name on it and it goes into a jar. At the end of each month a name is picked out of the jar and that PA is awarded with the title of PA of the Month and a movie gift certificate.
If you know a PA that has done a great deed throughout the month, please let one of our volunteers at the desk know and they can put a RAD slip into the jar for them on your behalf!

A Pre-CanSkater of the month is chosen by the coaches for each of the sessions that we run. These little (and often new!) skaters have a positive attitude towards skating and others around them, a willingness to try on their own and have shown personal accomplishment.

A CanSkater of the month is chosen by the coaches for each of the sessions that we run. These skaters love skating and have a desire to learn and improve their skating skills.
CanSkaters of the year have shown a great improvement throughout the entire season, are great listeners, apply skills well and show an overall passion for skating.

Once a month a Pre-STARSkater is chosen by the coaches. The chosen skater shows a great willingness to try on their own and a desire to learn more, a positive attitude while on the ice, improvement in their overall skating skills or has recently passed a stage or learned a new skill.

Once a month a STARSkater is chosen by the coaches and is awarded with the title of STARSkater of the month. The chosen skater shows some or all of the following; a great work ethic while on and off the ice, has team spirit and acts as a role model for other skaters in our club, has a wonderful attitude towards skating, is working towards or passed Skate Canada tests recently, had a successful result at a competition or has recently mastered a new skill.
